National Conference Tuesday said that the unfortunate turmoil that the Valley witnessed in 2010 was a direct result of PDP’s Amarnath Land Row plot in 2008 where PDP’s Forest Minister had transferred land to the Amarnath Shrine Board with the clear support of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti. NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for Forests Mian Altaf Ahmad and NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani according to a statement said this while addressing NC Workers Conventions in Ganderbal, Hazratbal and Zadibal Constituencies.

The Senior Party Leaders alleged that PDP has been in a tactical partnership with BJP since 2008 when both parties came together to divide the people of this State for their own partisan interests. The NC Leaders said that PDP and the Mufti family engineered the Amarnath Land Row by asking PDP’s Forest Minister to sign a controversial order decreeing land in Baltal to the Amarnath Shrine Board. Since 2008, the NC leaders said “PDP and the BJP had cemented their bond of bloodthirsty politics and had officially finalized an almost formal understanding of inflicting human costs on J&K to further their own political ambitions”.

The NC leaders alleged and said that PDP’s politics was based on a ruthless intention to prolong the sufferings of the people of this State and then create violent, bloody disruptions to exact a political price for the personal benefit of the Mufti family. Speaking on the occasion, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said “What happened in 2010 was the second phase of PDP’s 2008 Amarnath Plan where Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti made PDP’s Forest Minister to sign over land in Baltal to the Amarnath Shrine Board. PDP wasn’t satisfied with the bloodshed and destruction that the State witnessed due to their acts in 2008 and hence put into effect the second phase of their plan in 2010 – which resulted in a lot of young men losing their lives. PDP is responsible for both – the lives lost in the 2008 Amarnath Land Row as well as the lives lost in the 2010 turmoil. It has become more evident than ever now that PDP had the support of BJP in both 2008 and 2010 as PDP and BJP played with the blood of our young men for their selfish interests.”
