Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday said that the 13 militancy related convicts including 7 foreign nationals, 215 common law convicts including 12 foreign nationals, 150 militancy related undertrials including 20 foreign nationals,1980 common law undertrials including 30 foreign nationals, 63 militancy related detenues, 16 NDPS detenues, and 98 other detenues are lodged in different prisons within state and outside state.

In a written reply to a question of MLA Langate Er Rasheed, Minister Incharge home said that it would not to be feasible to disclose the particulars of detainees, Under trails, convicts, keeping in view their security reasons.

Minister further informed that the facilities necessary for the well-being of prisoners as envisaged in the manual for superintendence and management of jails are provided to the prisoners.

They added that facilities are also available for continuing the education of inmates through various educational intuitions.
