SRINAGAR
Radio Kashmir Srinagar Tuesday, organised a grand function in its Auditorium in which famed humourous poet and satirist, Ayoub Sabir was awarded for his life time achievement in the field of art and literature.
While being honoured he was showered with fresh flower petals amid the standing ovation from the audience. Deputy Director General of Radio Kashmir Srinagar Bashir Aarif presented his welcome address in which he said that Sabir was a living legend and it was the honour for Radio Kashmir Srinagar to honour him.
Famed writer and critic Ghulam Nabi Aatash presented a paper on the life and literary contribution of Ayoub Sabir. Munir and Mir and his coral group sang two humourous songs of Sabir and enthralled the audience. Zarief Ahmad Zarief presided over the function and in his address said that Sabir has been writing for the last five decades ignoring all critics and that has made him a unique writer of his times.
Ayoub Sabir in his own style won over the audience by reciting his poetry and sharing his interesting anecdotes with the audience. Prof Majruh Rasheed, Dr Rattan Lal Talashi, Firdous Fida and Inayat Gul also spoke on the literary contribution of Sabir.
Satish Vimal presented the vote of thanks and Zahid Mukhtar anchored the show.
