Two days ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Army on Monday claimed that troops recovered seven Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the area of Tangdhar in district Kupwar of North Kashmir.
“During early morning on May 4, based on a series of recent intelligence input received by the Army in Tangdhar area, a search operation was launched by the Army in area around village Tod and Gabra,” an army statement said adding , “When the search resumed on May 5, Army recovered seven IEDs hidden in a hollow tree trunk close to village Gabra in Tangdhar.”
Earlier, Army and JKP had recovered eight pistols along with eight magzines and 32 rounds of ammunition on May 4, in a joint search operation in district Bandipora.
Pertinently, the North Kashmir is scheduled to go for Lok Sabha polls on May 7.
