In an encounter in which three militants were killed in Awneera village of Zainapora Shopian, only two have been identified. The identity of third, police says is being ascertained.
Earlier the reports suggest that the third militant is Adil Ahmad Malik, resident of Malikgund Shopian besides two others Sheikh Irfan ul Haq, resident of Malldaira Shopian; Umar Majid Sheikh, resident of Kathpora Yaripora .
However the family of Adil has said the slain is not their son. The reports further said that family members of Adil participated in the funeral of Irfan.
Senior Superintendent of Police confirmed to our correspondent that “earlier one militant was identified as Adil Malik, but after proper verification it has come forward that he is not among killed ones.”
Regarding the third militant he said, “we know his code is Ghaznavi, but are not sure what is his real name.”
However it believed that third militant could probably be Yasin Yatoo as his code was Mehmud Ghaznavi.
Pertinently during the funeral prayers of Irfan, the wall behind the stage where body was kept could not bear the rush of mourners and broke away resulting in injuries to people including the media men.
