Army on Sunday morning claimed that its personnel recovered three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Kupwara district.

The recovered IEDs weighed 11 kg and were defused.

Giving details, defence sources said that a search party of the Army detected the three IEDs hidden in the hollow of a tree on the fringes of Gazrial forest in Trehgam area of Kupwara district.

“Army had launched search operation in the area,” they said adding two IEDs weighing five Kgs each and one weighing one Kg were recovered during the search operation.

They said that other recoveries include three mortar bombs, three UBGL grenades, 61 rounds of AK47 and one Chinese pistol with magazine.
