The opposition led by National Conference including Congress Tuesday staged a walk out from the lower house after CM Mehbooba Mufti remained absent from the Legislative assembly.

As house resumed debate on Kashmir unrest at 3 pm after the break, Chief Minister was not present in the house.

National conference working president and former CM Omar Abdullah asked speaker, “What is the fun of debate when CM has left.”

“CM has left for Srinagar and there is a debate,” said Abdullah, “This shows seriousness of the Government.”

Meanwhile in a series of tweets Omar later said: “What a pity that @MehboobaMufti chose to fly to Srinagar rather than participate in the discussion about the recent summer unrest”, “Rather than reply to the discussion she preferred to fly out so she could lay a handful of foundation stones in the valley tomorrow!!!”, It shows her complete lack of concern for the victims, her uncaring attitude & her total disdain for the sanctity of the Assembly of J&K.”
