With incidents of braid chopping soaring after every other day, the state Police Chief Dr S P Vaid Sunday said there has been no breakthrough so far into this mysterious braid chopping incidents.

Talking to reporters on sidelines of a function, Dr Vaid said, “ Police don’t have a Jaadu ki chadi (Magical stick).”

Meanwhile, five incidents of braid chopping occurred on Sunday in different parts of Kashmir.

In Kulgam, three consecutive braid chopping incident occurred. At Dardparen Khuri Batpora village the braid of one elderly woman was chopped.

Another braid chopping incident took place at Lassarpora Manzgam in Kulgam, where a braid of young girl was chopped. Another incident took place at Noorabad Kulgam.

In Srinagar’s Batamaloo area, the braid chopping incident took place around 12 noon after a young girl became the victim of braid chopping.

Later in the afternoon, a girl in Baramulla town became the victim of braid chopping.

Family members of the girl told local news agency that some unknown person or persons were hiding inside her room, and when she entered into her room, they sprayed some power which left her unconscious. “Later they chopped her braid and fled,” they said. The girl was shifted to District hospital Baramulla for treatment.
