Three army personnel were injured after militants attacked an army patrol party in Hajin area on Bandipora on wee hours of Saturday.

Reports from Hajin said, that Army petrolling party of 13 RR came under attack near Community Health Centre Hajin at around 5:30 am.


In the attack three soldiers including an officer were injured, correspondent reports said.

However, army spokesperson was not available to confirm the incident.

The injured soldiers have been identified as Praveen Kumar,Brigesh Kumar and Ramesh Rawat.

Soon after the attack forces cordoned off the area, locals said, and started search. But militants had fled from the area and army called off searches in the area.

The attack comes on the first death anniversary  of popular militant commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, who was killed last year on July 8 by government forces in Bamdoora area of Kokernag in southern Kashmir’s Islamabad along with two associates.

Following Wani’s killing Kashmir witnessed massive protests and voilance on streets.

Vallley remained shut for consecutive four months and more than hundred civilians were killed besides thousands injured.
