Srinagar
An army man was injured Thursday morning after militants fired upon government forces during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Paribal area of Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, said police officials.
Giving details, they said as CASO was launched on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, militants fired from the outer circle.
The officials said firing continued for some time and a manhunt has been launched to nab the militants.
The injured army man has been identified as Gobind Singh of 13 RR.
Reports said that militants escaped from the site after exchanging fire.
Meanwhile, people took to streets and staged protests in a bid to help the militants escape.
