Two policemen and an army man were injured during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Hajin area of Bandipora district, said police officials.
Giving details, they said as CASO was launched on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, militants fired from the outer circle.
An official confirmed that two cops identified as Mukhtar Ahmad and Fayaz Ahmad along with an army man Raj Kumar of 13 RR were injured after militants opened fire from outside the cordoned area in Kochak Mohalla of Hajin.
The officials said firing continued for some time and an manhunt has been launched to nab the militants.
