The judicial magistrate Shopian on Monday directed police to register an FIR against Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Aijaz Ahmad Mir for allegedly thrashing a local activist.
Sajad Ahmad Dar, a local political activist had alleged that on October 30 while he was travelling from Srinagar to Shopian in his personal vehicle the deputy commissioner Shopian stopped and thrashed him.
In an application before the court, Dar had alleged that the SC “assaulted” him and “threatened him for life.”
The court has directed SHO police station Shopian to register FIR and start investigation into the matter.
