Two policemen were injured as protesters clashed for the second consecutive day Wednesday with police and forces in Nowgam area of Srinagar over killing of two youths in Army firing in Budgam district.

Groups of protesters started anti-India slogans and police and forces swung into action to disperse them. Immediately the protesters started pelting stones at police and forces resulting in the ding dong battles.

Authorities have imposed restrictions on the movement of the people “to maintain law and order”. Locals alleged that they are not being allowed to reach the victim families freely.

Cops used tear smoke shells to chase away the protestors but intermittent clashes were going on in the area, source said.

Two youths identity as Faisal Yusuf Bhat and Mehrajuddin Dar were killed, by army while two others –Shakir Bhat and Zahid Naqash, were injured Monday evening when personnel of 53 Rashtriya Rifles opened fire on the Maruti car they were travelling in at Chattergam village in Badgam district.
