Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Sunday discussed hardships faced by students pursuing studies outside J&K under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).

An official statement said this evening that CM met the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Najma Heptulla, here Sunday morning. Member Parliament, Mehbooba Mufti, was also present on the occasion.

“During their meeting, Mufti Sayeed discussed various issues, especially those related to better use of Wakf properties so as to make these revenue-generating assets, hardships faced by students pursuing studies outside J&K under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme and release of post-matric scholarship to J&K students,” the statement said.

The Union Minister, the statement informed, assured Mufti Sayeed that she will take up on priority the issues deliberated upon in the meeting.

Najma Heptulla also discussed with the Chief Minister the new scheme – USTAAD – launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs for skill development of youth, which is aimed at improving their employability in the private and Government sectors, the statement added.
