The District administration Srinagar has ordered extension in the suspension of class work in all Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) for fourth consecutive day on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Lone told Kashmir Life that the teaching activity will remain suspended in Degree colleges and Higher Secondary Schools of district Srinagar on June 1.

Students in Kashmir valley took to streets demanding “freedom from India” after government forces barged into a degree college in Pulwama district on April 9.

Fearing protests the government in the past few weeks have intermittently shut colleges, Higher Secondary’s after violent student protests.
