The peace bus service across the divided Kashmir has been suspended for a day on Monday.
Started in 2005, as a confidence building measure, a bus would cross the Line of Control (LoC) every Monday and Thursday carrying divided families across the divide.
Popular as Karvan-e-Aman, the bus service operates from Srinagar in J&K and Muzaffarabad, in Pakistan-administered-Kashmir (PaK).
Official sources in Uri – wherefrom the bus crosses over to Muzaffarabad – told Kashmir Life that officials from across the divide had already intimated them “no bus shall ply on Monday”.
“They had wrote that there is holiday in PaK so no bus service today,” they said.
However, reports said that the peace bus service was suspended operate owing to “Youm-e-Tehsees” in PaK.
