J&K Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti met All Party Delegation along with her cabinet colleagues on September 04, 2016.

The government may facilitate visit of some of the members of the all-party delegation to interact with resistance leaders. They may be allowed to see them in jails or their home, sources said.

“We had asked the government that we intend to meet all but that has not happened because there is nobody from the separatists in the list,” Left leader Sitaram Yechuri told reporters while accompanying Omar Abdullah out of the SKICC. “We have taken up the issue with the government and let us see what happens.”

Yechuri said that the immediate priority of the all-party delegation is that Kashmir should become normal. Once that happens, things can move ahead.

When asked that why Kashmir is unquiet when a similar delegation in 2010 has fetched peace, Yechuri said that happened because the government failed in adequately following up the processes initiated in 2010.

Soon after the All Patty Delegation reached SKICC, the main venue of the meetings, Assadudin Owaisi told reporters that he is keen that the delegation meets all the stakeholders.

Now, sources tell Kashmir Life the three lawmakers including D Raja are asking the government very uncomfortable questions. This might be the reason for facilitating them to reach out to one or more resistance leaders. While sources indicated the possibility of the two leaders being permitted to go, it was not immediately known whom they will try to meet.

Syed Ali Geelani is restricted to his home in Hyderpora. Last night when a police officer rushed to deliver the letter, that PDP president had issued publicly, there was nobody around to even open the door.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is already in custody and is being kept in a Chashma Shahi hut that has been designated as sub-jail.

JKLF leader Yasin Malik who was in central jail Srinagar has now been shifted to Humhama where many other resistance leaders have been lodged.

Shabir Shah is restricted to the Rajbagh police station.

Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik are the three leaders who are spearheading the on-going uprising for last 58 days.

A top police officer said that the lawmakers will visit three places in their personal capacities – Hyderpora, Chashma Shahi and Rajbagh.

Earlier, sections within the delegation wanted to visit the hospitals but they have been strongly advised against the visit.
