The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Monday reviewed the law and order situation and supply of essential commodities in Kashmir valley at a meeting of senior officers of Civil Administration and Police.
The meeting was told that in view of shutdown the routine life remained badly affected, however, restrictions have been eased in most of the areas and there was no curfew across Kashmir except some areas of Srinagar falling under the Police Stations of Maisuma, Batamaloo, Khanyar, Safakadal, Nowhatta, Rainawari and M R Gunj, an official spokesperson said this evening.
“The Divisional Administration continued its efforts of ensuring essential supplies across the valley and more than 700 tankers of Fuel and Gas arrived today,” the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, as per a press note issued by police, three incidents of stone pelting were reported from Srinagar, Kulgam and Bandipora.
“At these places, mobs assembled on the roads and attempted to disturb the normal traffic and movement of people by pelting stones on vehicles and later on at police & security force deployments,” the spokesperson added. “In Kulgam miscreants, about 800 in number, assembled and pelted stones on police and security force deployment at Zanglapora, Devsar.”
