National Conference patron and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday took oath as Lok Sabha member.
Farooq was elected to the lower house Indian parliament after defeating PDP’s Nazir Ahmad Khan from the Srinagar parliamentary constituency.

The parliamentary elections cosnuemed 11 lives while hundreds of others were injured on the day of polling in Bugam, Srinagar. Farooq Ahmad Dar, who had voted, was tied to the front of an army jeep, used as human shield and paraded through several villages.
