Making the mark for the first time, a scholar from Kashmir has been elected as vice-president of Aligarh Muslim University Students Union for which elections were held on December 11.

According to reports, Sajad Subhan Rather became first Kashmiri student in the history of AMU to get elected to the post of chair in AMUSU, TwoCircles.net reported.

Interestingly this is also the first time that all these chairs are represented by three different states.

As reported, Maskoor Ahmad Usmani has been elected as president, Sajad Subhan Rather as vice-president while Mohammad Fahad has been elected as Hony Secretary of the AMU’s student fraternity.

Maskoor got 9071 total votes and won by a huge margin of 6719 votes. On the other hand, Sajav polled 5711 votes and won by 3106 votes.
