Forces on late Tuesday afternoon allegedly raided the houses of active militants in Shopian district in southern part of Kashmir and vandalized the properties.

The militants whose houses were raided have been identified as Adil Ahmad Malik and Umar Nazir Malik of Malik Gund village.

Reports said that two brothers of Umar and one brother of Adil and his friend, have been arrested.

Meanwhile, in Turkwangam village forces allegedly vandalized the property of Zubair Ahmad Wani, an active militant and arrested his father, uncle and a guest.

At Babekhider village of Shopian forces allegedly vandalized property of another militant, Obaid Malla and arrested his father and brother, local sources said.

They alleged that at all places forces smashed windowpanes of the militant’s houses and damaged the properties including fridges, washing machines, televisions, utensils etc.

Pertinently, on Tuesday angry protesters set ablaze the residence of a PDP activist in Imamsahab area of the district.

The activist, Mohammad Ramzan was killed by militants two days back. A militant Shawkat Fallahi was also killed in the incident.
