Militants fired some gunshots after government forces launched a cordon and search operation on Monday evening in Nullay Poshwari area of Shopian district.
Reports said that a joint team of Jammu & Kashmir police, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and battalions of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had launched the operation after receiving inputs about the presence of the militants present in the area.
Locals said the militants, believed to be five in number, fired some shots before escaping from the area, reports claimed.
