Government forces on Wednesday laid siege to a dozen localities of Hajin town in Bandipora district in northern part of Kashmir and started major Cordon and Search Operation (CASO), sources said.
All the entry and exit points to the town have been sealed and forces of 13RR, CRPF 45 battalion and SOG are on Job, sources said.
They said house to house searches have been started in the town after input about the presence of militants.
The crackdown comes after BSF soldier’s killing by militants last week.
Internet services in the area remained suspended since yesterday, local sources added.
