SRINAGAR: In a bid to end her life, a girl consumed some poisonous substance at her home in Budgam.

A police spokesman said the 20 years old girl (name withheld) is a resident of Budgam and consumed some poisonous substance at her home in the jurisdiction of Police Station Beerwah, Budgam. She was shifted to Sub District Hospital Beerwah for treatment where from she shifted to JVC Bemina, Srinagar for further treatment. Budgam police has registered a case in this regard.

The spokesman said that five persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Budgam and Ganderbal.

In Budgam a vehicle bearing registration number JK04A-119 turned turtle near Mirgund Chowk, resulting in injuries to three persons boarding the vehicle. All the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Budgam for treatment.

In Ganderbal, a Sumo bearing registration number JK04-9813 driven by Farooq Ahmad Lone resident of Sarbal Sonamarg collided with a Wagon-R vehicle bearing registration number JK01CA-1214 driven by Farooq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Sumbal Bandipora at National Highway near Surch Ganderbal, resulting in injuries to Wagon-R driver and a passenger namely Abdul Ahad Wani resident of Akhal Kangan who was boarding the Sumo. Both the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for treatment, where from they were referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.
