Srinagar

Government on Friday have imposed restrictions in parts of Old City in downtown Srinagar to prevent the protests against the killing of two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants including top commander Abu Ismail.

The duo was killed in a brief gunfight in Aribagh Nowgam area of city outskirts last night.

“Prohibitory orders have been clamped in areas coming under the police stations of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, MR Gunj and Safa Kadal following the killing of two LeT militants,” Srinagar administration said on Thursday.

Reports said that heavy deployment has been made at the entry and exit points and barricades erected at various places of the city.

Government also ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Srinagar district and other areas of the valley to prevent protests.
