Group psychotherapeutic session was held at Drug De-addiction centre, Srinagar. Excellent response was shown by the participants despite harsh weather. A police statement said.

A brain storming group psychotherapeutic session was held with the patients admitted in Police Drug De-Addiction centre. Families accompanying their addict patients, the recovered patients, who have been treated and rehabilitated by the police drug de- addiction centre participated in the group psychotherapeutic session.

The session was presided over by the SP Srinagar West, Dr Sunil Gupta. He shared his personal experience, empathized with the suffering population and directed the group to explore the possibilities of the solution to the problem. He emphasized upon fighting the stigma about drug abuse, changing attitude and role of society as an institution for change.

He appreciated the role of the team for creating an environment in the De-addiction campus where these patients and their families are feeling comfortable to share their sufferings and pain.

The session was concluded with the theme “ Save yourself and help the society”. Dr Sunil Gupta appreciated the efforts of police De-addiction team and assured Dr. Muzafar khan (in charge of the centre) for all kind of support at his personal and organizational level.
