As per a statement Gurezi has also distributed 8 hearing aid machines among 8 beneficiaries of the Tehsil. These cheques were distributed among the beneficiaries at Dawar and Government Higher Secondary School, Purni Tulail in a simple functions organized by the District Social Welfare Office, Bandipora.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government has launched number of welfare schemes for the improving socio-economic conditions of people living below poverty line (BPL) to ensure progress and development at all fronts.

The Minister has directed the social welfare authorities to conduct survey in the Tehsil for identification of down trodden and physically challenged persons who are not covered under any scheme of the department and cover them under appropriate programmes. He has said that need of the hour is to aware general public about the programmes and policies of the department for which awareness camps and publicising schemes among the people at large should be organized.

Later, the Minister visited Sub-District Hospital, Dawar Gurez and took stock of the medicare and other facilities being made available in the hospital for the patients.

During his visit, he has inspected old block of the hospital and directed the hospital management to ensure establishment of blood bank in the hospital. He was apprised that the blood bank will be established in newly constructed hospital building where operational theatre facilities shall also be made available. He was further informed that patient wards, dental section, registration unit, labour room and OPD units are functional.

Later on, the Minister inspected each of these units. While inspecting the labour room the patients informed about the lack of heating system. The Minster has directed the Executive Engineer R&B to install PRP pipes instead of GI pipes which stand severe cold and temperature upto – 300.

Earlier, the Minister inaugurated Fish Farm Dawar constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 31.00 lakhs. The farm consists of two pairs of race ways besides watch and ward hut.

To boost the trout fish industry in the Gurez Tehsil, the department has made use of 30,000 brown seed Frey in Kishan Ganga River so that the people concerned are benefited by the fish trade of Gurez area.

On the occasion, Gurezi has said that the Tehsil has enough potential for fish production for which fish farms have to be set up at large scale. He said that by establishing of these units in the Tehsil shall generate employment opportunities for unemployed youth.
