SRINAGAR: The two wide-bodied aircraft’s carrying the Haj pilgrims which were prevented from landing at Srinagar airport have been rescheduled, an information from a senior official source said.

The first flight will now land at 7.45 am. This aircraft will be carrying 240 pilgrims. The Haj Flight 5102 had actually reached Srinagar and was hovering over the airport for more than 20 minutes but did not get permission to land. This aircraft is flying back to Srinagar Friday morning.

However, the Haj Flight 5104 will not be flying back, Its 420 passengers will now be flown to Srinagar in three Beings which will land in Srinagar at 7:15 am, 7:45 am and 10:45 am, respectively.

The denial of permission by the Director General Civil Aviation to the first return Haj flight of the season created serious tensions at the airport with the relatives of the pilgrims resorting to anti-India slogans. The incident has embarrassed the state government that had announced the aircraft will avail night landing at the “international” airport.
