Kokernag village of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Wednesday witnessed a partial shutdown over the death of three militants killed during an encounter in Hakoora area of Islamabad.

Reports said that normal life was disrupted due to the showdown against the killings. All the shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads.

Villages near to Kokernag also remained closed. However, traffic could be seen plying on roads normally in Islamabad.

Earlier, on March 12, 2018, three militants were killed in an overnight gunfight at Hakoora area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

The bodies of the trio were recovered along with as many assault rifles. Three of them associated with Teul-Mujahideenhideen (TuM) militant outfit.

Two among the three militants were identified as Eisa Fazili of Soura Srinagar and Owais Ahmad of Kokernag and third was believed to be a foreigner.
