SRINAGAR

Terming the use of “excessive force, violence, damaging of dozens of houses and vehicles and injuring of many youths” in Zainakote, HMT area of Srinagar as the “hooliganism” of the CRPF, All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani condemned this action.

An amalgam statement Wednesday evening said, “India with the help its local agents is breaking all the records of the oppression and they are hell bent to suppress the peaceful voices of the Kashmiri people with the help of their military power. The communal government of India has given clear directions to its forces in Jammu & Kashmir to use excessive force and violence to suppress and sabotage every peaceful voice in Kashmir which is against the forced and illegal occupation of this country,” adding, “that is why the CRPF personnel in Zainakote HMT area barged into the houses and broke down windowpanes, beat-up the inmates and damaged several vehicles parked on roads, lanes and courtyard.”

Hurriyat statement further added that the CRPF personnel didn’t even spear the cricket playing children and youths.

“According to the locals the CRPF goons entered the play ground from four sides and beat up the cricket playing youths in which a youth Saleem Ahmad Khan son of Jehangir Ahmad Khan was seriously injured and he was rushed to the hospital while as the CRPF personnel wildly barged into the residential houses in the Zainakote area and used bamboo sticks and gun butts to break the windowpanes, doors and cupboard.”

The statement further mentioned that Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani is under continuous house detention from last 55 days while as Tehreek-e-Hurriyat general secretary Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar are also under the house arrest from last one week, a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement.

While terming this house imprisonment as “worst kind of state terrorism”, Geelani condemned it in strong words and said, Mufti Sayeed has completely banned the democratic rights and freedom of expression of the pro-freedom people and to appease his saffron masters back in New Delhi, he had forgot all his previous slogans like the ‘Battle of Ideas’ and ‘Goli Nahi Boli’.”

While thanking the people of Kashmir and Jammu regions particularly the conscious people of Bhaderwah and Kishtwar for making the joint shutdown call of the pro-freedom leaders a success which was called against the innocent killings in Sopore, he appealed all the “Islamists and pro-freedom” people to march towards Sopore on Friday to express their sympathy and solidarity with the families of the slain persons.

He also appealed the people of Sopore to remain ready to participate in the proposed Friday march.

The Hurriyat (G) Chairman said that the complete and successful shutdown in entire Jammu & Kashmir which was called by the pro-freedom leaders is a “clear warning for the “policy makers and secret agencies of India” that their secret plans have got badly exposed and the people had understood their policy of ‘eliminate terrorism with terrorism and target killings’ and they can’t continue it now.”
