Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Monday, while criticising octogenarian Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani for hitting out at NC president Farooq Abdullah, asked if Syed Ali Shah Geelani can react to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s repeated statements that Azadi was not an option for Kashmir.
“Can Geelani show me his reaction to the Pak PM who has recently repeated several times that Azadi is not an option for Kashmir. Hypocrisy is a Geelani trait,” Abdullah, who is the working president of NC, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Geelani had denounced the remarks of Farooq that “Azadi is no option”.
“These power hungry politicians always played deceit. These irresponsible and short-sighted people have always served the interests of their masters. They are barefaced, follow their treacherous politics and never feel ashamed for their absurd statements”, Geelani had said in a statement yesterday.
