Kulgam

Panic gripped in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday when Army and CRPF personnel along with police cordoned off the District Hospital Kulgam and asked all the people present their to vacate the hospital.

Eyewitnesses told CNS that CRPF had inputs about the presence of explosive device in the premises of the hospital. Army personnel from 9 RR and 18 Battalion CRPF informed police and soon sniffer dogs were pressed into the service.

Soon after the detection of some undesirable material, Bomb Disposal Squad reached on spot. “People hooted at Army and CRPF personnel when it was detected that it was not an IED but an empty soft drink bottle encircled with an electric wire,” an eyewitness said.
