Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) paid tributes to veteran “leader of freedom movement” Sofi Muhammad Akbar on his death anniversary.
In a statement issued on Thursday, JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that Sofi Sahib was a great patriot and a selfless leader who instead of power and authority chose the path of thorns and till his last breath remained steadfast with “freedom movement resisting tyranny and oppression.”
He said, “The path of struggle and resistance shown by this great soul is an example and beacon of light for us and today on a day when we are recalling this great soul, we pledge to take forward his mission to its desired goal.”
A delegation of JKLFalso participated in a condolence meeting held at his Mazar in Sopore. Paying tributes to the Sofi, they said that his sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Meanwhile Malik has expressed his grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Khawaja Abdul Mateen of Shah-Abad Dooru. Terming Khawaja Abdul Mateen as an intellectual and freedom fighter, JKLF chairman said that his absence will always be felt.
