Four students and a policeman sustained minor injuries in Ajas area of north Kashmir’s district Bandipora on Thursday after the students clashed with the government forces, who were protesting against the rape and murder of Kathua minor.

The protesting student demanded justice for the eight-year-old girl and raising slogans against the rapists.

Sources said that soon after the protests clashes were also reported from the area, however government forces retaliated with teargas shelling to disperse the stone pelting students.

During the incident, four protesting students and a policeman have sustained injuries.

One policeman identified as Constable Danish has received injuries in his hand after hit by a stone, an official said.

The clashes have triggered a shutdown in the Ajas town as clashes were going on in the area.
