JAMMU: Kewal Krishan Sharma, ex-PRO of ex-Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, tried to commit suicide under suspicious circumstances in the lock-up of Pucca Danga Police Station on Saturday evening.
Sharma has been arrested in the disproportionate assets case by State Vigilance Organisation(SVO) and was lodged in Pucca Danga Police station. Police sources said that he consumed some poisonous substance under suspicious circumstances inside the lock-up. They could not explain how he managed to consume some poisonous substance despite being in the custody of Police.
He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Jammu where his condition is stated to be stable. Sources said that the doctors washed the stomach of Kewal and kept him under strict observation throughout the night. They added that Kewal is now stable and out of danger.
