PHE employees called off their strike after Minister of State for PHE Nazir Ahmed Gurezi tendered unconditional apology on behalf of the state government and assured them that no such incident in future will be repeated.
Reports said that MoS PHE and senior National Conference leader Nazir Ahmed Gurezi arrived at PHE Direction Office Srinagar where all the employees including Engineers had organized a sit-in seeking apology from Transport Minister Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan for using abusive language against PHE Chief Engineer M A Lanker.
Nazir Gurezi while guiding Chief Engineer towards the chair told the employees that he has arrived here on the instructions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and on his behalf Gurezi apologizes to all the employees for what happened during the Review Meeting on Thursday.
“Yes, Nazir Gurezi apologized with folded hands and requested Chief Engineer to continue his duty. We have decided to call off the strike and from tomorrow there will be no strike in any PHE Division,” PHE Employees Coordination Committee president Sajad Ahmed Parray told CNS.
