Government on Friday detained Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at her Nigeen residence, while octogenarian Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house detention since 2010.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested on Saturday.

Meanwhile, reports said that police late Friday night detained Dukhtaran Millat Chairwomen Asiya Andrabi at her home.

Pertinently, the resistance leaders have called for a complete shutdown on Saturday against the recent civilian killing in Kashmir.

Authorities also imposed curfew-like restrictions in 7 seven police station areas of Srinagar. The areas where restrictions have been imposed include Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, M R Gunj, and partial in Maisuma, Kralkhud police stations to thwart attempts of protest.

Paramilitary forces including cops of Jammu and Kashmir police have been deployed at all the entry and exit points of these areas to restrict the movement in the area.
