Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of Jehangir Ahmad Khanday, who was killed along with two more militants in a gunfight with forces in Bahmnoo village of Pulwama in southern part of Kashmir on Monday.

Reports said that the funeral prayers were held five times to accommodate the huge rush of people marching from different areas in Chak Keller – ancestral village of Jehangir in Shopian district.

People were seen wailing while men and children raised pro-freedom slogans during his last rites.

Jehangir and two of his associates were killed in an over 20-hour long operation that began at 7 am yesterday.
