The ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has flayed the national conference statement about labelling people of Srinagar’s old city as drug addicts, stating that the NC’s hidden policy vis-a-vis Kashmiris has finally come to fore.
A PDP spokesperson in a statement said that every responsible citizen of state has denounced the statement of National Conference as it is the old city of Srinagar that has remained hub of Kashmir’s culture and civilisation for decades. “The place has produced great scholars, poets, writers and seers. There were great saints of Kashmir who have preached in old city of Srinagar and its people haven’t forgotten those teachings. NC spokesman should have kept that in mind before spitting venom against the people of Srinagar,” he said.
