NIT Techvaganza 2014 – Srinagar.

The three day event ‘techvaganza’ 2k14’ organized by NIT hazratbal Srinagar is carried out with a purpose to test the practical knowledge of engineering students or the ones who are pursuing  engineering course in future. It is a competition cum workshop.

The very event was inaugurated by the institute’s director Prof A.H. Mir in presence of faculty members and hundreds of tech enthusiasts. There was no barrier in age groups; anyone was allowed to participate in the very competitions from almost 8th standard to MTECH students.

While addressing to the gathering, Prof Mir said “you are the future of this nation and you should be ready for any challenge”.

After the inaugural ceremony main events started which lasted till late evening. The prominent events among them were Mystery box, Smack Down, Make up my stamp, Codomonia, Embesys, Photographia, estimator and a workshop on Nanotechnology.

The electrical engineering department of the institute organized the Mystery Box event. The mystery box contained lot of electronic equipments which students had to test and later on they were supposed to identify the kind of circuit it is.

Umar Manzoor, a 4th semester student and organizer of the mystery box event said, “the main purpose of this event is to bring out the technological knowhow of young lots”.

The electrical department organized another event of gaming.

“Here we have three world famed computer game competitions including Counter Strike, FIFA and NFS Most Wanted,” an organizer Mohit said.

The department of Physics organized a workshop on NANO Science in which the experts highlighted the growing technological advances of the field. They said that the Nano technology holds the way forward for future development. The participants were given the basic ideas of how the technology works.
