State owned Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) is employing a Deputy General Manager (DGM) who is a non state subject.

A probe by Vigilance Organisation (VO) has established that he illegally procured the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), reports said.

The VO, after its investigation, recommended to Deputy Commissioner Jammu to cancel the PRC of Suresh Rekhi.

SSP Vigilance, Dr Koushal Sharma, has been quoted as having said that he has recommended cancellation of Rekhi’s state subject as it was found to have been procured through illegal means.

“Two cases stand registered against him with the Vigilance, apart from a couple of complaints against JKPCC in which his role is being probed,” Sharma said.

DC Jammu has written to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu for cancellation of Rekhi’s PRC.

The step was taken after proper verification by the Revenue department during which it was found that father of Suresh Rekhi originally hails from Jallandhar, Punjab, reports added.

“Sources said that besides his own, Rekhi has managed PRCs of his daughter and son. Interestingly, during investigation the Vigilance found that the daughter of Rekhi was in London on the day when she was shown present in the DC office Jammu and her statement was shown recorded by a revenue officer while processing her state subject file.”

The repor further added that the PRCs of many other government officers who were also not state subjects have been recommended for cancellation.
