Kashmir University’s School of Law on Saturday held a plantation drive at the University’s Institute of Technology, Zakura Campus.

The day-long plantation drive was organised in collaboration with the Department of Forests, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

Registrar Prof Khurshid A Butt, who was present on the occasion, hailed the Law Society, which works under the aegis of the School of Law, for organising such events. He said that the University is committed to support such endeavours.

Head and Dean, School of Law, Prof Muhammad Hussain and Director Institute of Technology Zakura Campus Prof Mohiuddin Bhat also spoke on the occasion and said that planting trees is not only a social responsibility but a religious duty as well. They hailed the Law Society, Forest Department, University’s landscape division for collaborating in organising the programme.

The event was sponsored by NGO SAAYA (Shadow of Hope). The programme was coordinated by In-charge Law Society Dr S A Bhat.
