Three army personnel were thrashed by a group of youths in main market Sheeri in Baramulla district on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway on Wednesday morning.
The youths alleged that the army men were suspiciously roaming in the area. The trio according to witnesses was thrashed badly and handed over to police.
A police official said that some miscreants stopped a passenger bus near Sheeri and forcibly de-boarded three Army men and manhandled them. “The Army men were posted in Kitchama, Sheeri and were on way to Baramulla to get search lights repaired,” he said.
An FIR has been registered in the matter and investigation taken up, the official said.
