Taking administration near to the door steps of the people, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather accompanied by a team of senior officers and engineers today conducted an extensive tour of various areas of his constituency, Chrar-i-Sharief and took stock of the pace of work on different developmental projects.

As per a statement Rather inspected under construction Rs 16.53 crore 50 bedded Sub-District Hospital, Chrar-i-Sharief, Rs 15.45 crore sub-district hospital Pakherpora and Rs 11.53 Sub-District Hospital Nagam, Chadoora. He has instructed the engineers of JKPCC, the executing agency of these projects, to complete work on these projects expeditiously adding that availability of funds will not be any constrain in this regard. He was assured that these hospital buildings will be completed by the end of October this year.

Rather has said all these hospital buildings will be equipped with best scientific diagnostic equipment besides having all the diagnostic facilities including modern operation theaters, blood banks, x-rays plants, ultra sonography indoor and outdoor blocks, separate gynecological and dental sections and residential quarters for medical and para-medical staff.

Rather said these Sub-District Hospital assume much more significance and importance in view of great pilgrims rush to the shrines of revered Sheikh-ul-Aalam, Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali(RA) at Chrar-i-Sharief and the shrine of Hazrat Ali Wali Bulkhi at Pakherpora. He asked the engineers to ensure use of standard construction material.

The Minister has also inspected pace of work on under construction Rs 18.50 crore Government polytechnic college at Nagam and was apprised that work on the projects is going on in full swing. He was told that the college building is expected to be completed in the month of December this year.

During the tour, a number of deputations met the Minister and briefed him about their burning problems and demands. The people of Pakherpora made a fervent appeal for construction of a receiving station in the area to improve power supply. The people in various areas also demanded repairs of damaged transformers. The Minister has assured them that all their genuine demands will be fulfilled positively.

The Minister has also inspected water, supply project, Manoo, Chrar-i-Sharief which is the main dependable drinking water source in the upper belt of Chara-i-Sharief Constituency and discussed measures to further augment the water supply system in the area. He also discussed features of Kalnag water supply scheme which is being constructed as second alternative to the existing Beran Dub water source.
