Pro-freedom leaders have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Qazi Hussain Ahmad, former amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.

The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Geelani, who is in New Delhi, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that he would visit Pakistan to condole the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmad and express solitary with the bereaved family if he was provided with travel documents.

Paying rich tributes to the former JI Amir, Geelani said that the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmad had personally shocked him as he had lost a loving brother.

Tehreek-e-Hurriyet in a meeting held at its headquarters has decided that Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayers in absentia) of Qazi Hussain Ahmad would be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at Old Barzala Eidgah in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Firdous Ahmad Shah in their statements have also condoled the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmad and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
