An abandoned girl around a month-old was found on Thursday morning on Srinagar-Jammu highway near Magarkote area in Ramban district.
The babay draped in a blanket was found by locals who informed local police.
“After getting phone call from a local about the abandoned girl has been found we rushed to the spot,”said SHO Ramsoo Muneer Ahmad, while speaking to Kashmir Life.
“We rushed the baby for a medical checkup to a nearby hospital, where doctors said that she is alright,” SHO added. “Later, people from the locality voluntary came to adopt the girl but we have given them just to take her care till legal procedures are not complete.”
Police has registered a case in this matter vide FIR number 26/2017.
