Chief minister has constituted a team of experts to advise government on the crucial Sawlakote issue.
“I doubt the power sector budget would be presented separately from the general budget,” an officer updated on the developments said. “But there is no decision on the economic survey.”
Rather has already taken the house’s consent for spending a whopping sum of Rs 9503 crore to run the affairs of the government for the first five months of 2009-10. J&K has spent Rs 19077 crore in 2008-09 of which almost two-third Rs 12630 crore was spent as revenue expenditure and the remaining Rs 6447 crores as capital expenditure that mostly comprises the plan of Rs 4500 crore.
J&K plans to have a Rs 6500 crore fully funded development plan for 2009-10. However, it will have to face certain resource problems because the implementation of sixth pay commission recommendations had added up Rs 1600 crores to state’s voluminous wage bill besides Rs 3800 crores of arrears.
