A local reporter working with local daily Kashmir Observer, who reported on the alleged suicide of a female Junior engineer Mudasir Aziz, was Friday threatened by the accused in-laws of the deceased who are under police investigation for abatement in the suicide.

Mudasir, a JE with R&B Department and mother of a 4 year old kid, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into River Jehlum in May this year.

“A person introducing himself to be the brother of the cousin-sister, who is accused of having illicit relations with the husband of the deceased lady (according to police investigation) told me that he ‘shall see me’ (be haway tse voni) and threatened that he will come to my office along with goons” said Auqib Javed, the reporter, adding, “they were asking the name of the source who disclosed the information”.

A group of around five people came to the KO office looking for Auqib. They even misbehaved with a staffer.

“They videographed me and shouted at me, it was very terrifying,” said the staffer.
