Residents of Braad Anagan, Utresso Islamabad on Saturday held a demonstration protest against  the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department of government for failing to provide drinking water supplies to the village .

Locals said that the area which consists of more than 50 households, lacks drinking water facilities from last one month after a household cut the main water supply line.

“While most of the people of the area remain without water supply and others get water which is far from being fit for drinking purpose and often causes inconvenience to the people here and we  are demanding redressal of the problem”, said a protester.

Residents alleged that instead of rectifying the problem PHE department has turned blind eye to their woes.

They said that they are facing acute water crisis in the area which is causing enormous hardships to them and when it comes to carry water from other places women’s of the village get badly effected.

Gafar Ahmed Wagay a local resident of Brad Anagan told Kashmir life that, they are reeling under water scarcity from past one month, but despite of repetitive requests no relief has been provided by the concerned authorities.

However Residents cautioned the authorities if the shortage of water won’t be mitigated at earliest they will hit the streets again and won’t let any political activity happen in the area.

Junior Engineer  Brad  Anagan, Utresso Fayaz Ahmad while talking to Kashmir life said, that there is a dispute between two households which  affects the whole area and from our side  we are trying our best to sort out the issue as soon as possible.
