The scenes outside Srinagar’s SMHS hospital are reminiscent of post-Burhan Wani situation. So far 16 injured managed to reach here in six ambulances. Unlike last time, doctors are reluctant to share any details about the injured or the nature of injuries. “We were told not to share any details with the media,” said a doctor who is posted at the trauma ward.

However, according to eyewitnesses, one injured, identified as Sameer from Mattan area of Islamabad was brought here in critical condition. He has been hit on the skull by a tear-smoke shell outside Higher Secondary Mattan. “He is in coma right now,” said a doctor wishing anonymity.

There are three more pellet victims who have been shifted to the main ward after receiving basic treatment.
